Your hair

A poem by Jessica Semaan

Your silky blond hair resting on your skinny shoulders

The sensual hand movement you did to move them off your face every time they fell back

The way you wrapped the locks around each other and pulled them up so slowly

As if time stopped and it was the most magical event of all

My heart fell for that hair and broke up with my head

It was over said my heart. I want to be in love and I see love here, present and ready to accept me in. So please don’t tell me to slow down, go doubt someone else.

The heart fell. The heart stopped. The heart panicked. The heart embraced. The heart opened. The heart broke. The heart burned. The heart hid.

Your blond silky hair were not enough.

My craving for them, my craving for love was not enough.

I was not enough.
