What is it like to be in your power?

Asked my friend emily fields joffrion for her 100 day project.

Being in my power is being in my body. Being with the different sensations in my body and staying there while watching my mind go off. It’s something that everyone has access to — although when we have a lot of trauma, we disassociate from our bodies. By healing the trauma I have from growing up during the civil war in Lebanon, I have gained access to the wisdom of my body.

I am learning that what the mind tells me about a sensation isn’t necessarily right. If I feel fear, my mind goes and makes a story and I have to try not to get caught into it. Like when you meet someone and feel excitement in your gut and chest, and the mind goes, “That’s the one — the person I’m going to marry!” When I’m in my body, I notice these feelings as feelings and explore what they means vs. attaching to a…
