Silence

I fell in love with the silence in between your dimpled smiles
I fell in love despite the silence when I ask you to stay for a little while
I fell in love to the feet of your silence when I speak, disarming my mind, setting my longing free

I fell in love with the silence that I know I would come to dread
I fell in love with a fantasy, where silence will find its way to a melody of surrender
Where you would hum to me, that you choose me, naked next to me, you would murmur to me, how you really felt the first time you saw me

Silence, first time, not the last time, I write a poem about you

Order your copy of child of the moon my first illustrated book of poetry:

about child of the moon:
in between being your mother and father
i forgot to be your daughter
and became the child of the moon
inspired by the author’s traumatic childhood experiences and set against the backdrop of the lebanese civil war, child of the moon is a powerful collection of poetry reflecting on fear, shame, despair, suicide, and the unconditional love that leads to healing.
