Asked my business school friend.

I used to measure my emotional healing like a capitalist. I was looking for fast growth, KPIs and was only starring at the bottom line. Turned out to heal, means to flip your thinking from black and white to gray, to complexity to presence to surprises.

The 10 ways I know I am healing:

1- I do at least one self-care activity a day and I do not have to force myself to do it each time

2- I notice when I am in shame, anger or despair, I can name it

3- The self-loathing cycle is still there but has decreased from days in bed to a few hours to a day max

4- I speak my truth and say no more often

5- I am in a challenging relationship but like all the other times, I am not leaving when things get hard (Kudos to my therapist)

6- I am in touch with repressed negative emotions towards my parents

7- I listen more to people and give less advice. I notice my judgments popping in and out

8- When I fall back into old cycles I understand that these are old patterns and it takes a long time to build new ones, aka I am a little bit more patient with myself
